My thoughts...
Fifteen year old Missy is looking to fill her need to be loved and she's going about it the wrong way. The choices she makes only take her deeper into a life no teen should experience. There were many occasions for the love of Jesus to be introduced to her throughout the book but the author didn't offer that option. I would classify this as more of a secular than a Christian book. It did make me aware of how some teens feel today, their lives full of attractive yet deceiving opportunities...sex, drugs, alcohol. Missy's father works a lot, her mother suffers from depression, her "friends" are not the kind of friends you would want for your daughter. What she gleans from her mistakes aren't always the right lessons to learn.
This is a fast paced, emotional, read. Heartbreaking as you go with Missy through these issues with sometimes devastating repercussions. It reminds us that we should love and support our children with all our might and lots of prayer.
