Enemies of the Heart by Andy Stanley

Break free from the destructive power of guilt, anger, greed, and jealousy.

Divorce. Job loss. Estrangement from family members. Broken friendships.

The difficult circumstances you are dealing with today are likely being fed by one of four emotional forces that compels you to act in undesirable ways, sometimes even against your will.

Andy Stanley explores each of these destructive forces—guilt, anger, greed, and jealousy—and how they infiltrate your life and damage your relationships. He says that, left unchallenged they have the power to destroy your home, your career, and your friendships.

In Enemies of the Heart, Andy offers practical, biblical direction to help you fight back, to take charge of those feelings that mysteriously control you, and to restore your broken relationships.

My thoughts...

Enemies of the Heart is one of those books that make you say "Wow!" Stanley has a way of getting his point across, easy to understand. Expect tears and lots of prayer as you read it. He includes personal stories that further enhance his points.

There are four enemies of the heart... guilt, greed, anger, and jealousy. If we do not deal with them they will take us over. Most of us struggle in one way or another in one of these areas. Stanley offers a solution for for ridding ourselves of these negative areas by confessing to God, giving Him thanks, and being forgiving and generous to others.

Give your heart an assessment. God CAN free us!

This one gets 5 stars. I received a copy of this book free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I'm going to reviewing this book for another site very soon and I can't wait. I love watching Andy Stanley's North Pointe sermons, so I'm super psyched about this book. Thanks for the great review!
